How we transformed our a small patio with a few new pieces and a DIY planter!

I never even considered the tiny area outside our backdoor a patio. It was a place to throw boxes and keep shoes. Once the pandemic hit, I had the sudden urge to make it a cute, functional space. Honestly, I just needed a quiet space to escape for morning coffee. It’s also turned into our favorite place to sit in the evenings after the kids are in bed. Here’s everything you need to refresh your small patio space.

- Patio Chairs: Our exact set is sold out, but similar styles here and here.
- Small Accent Rug: I love this rug– it should probably be bigger for the space, but it works.
- Accent Table: I spray painted an end table from West Elm that I already owned. Similar styles here and here.
- Lantern: A battery-operated LED lantern is the way to go. Similar styles here and here.
- Basket: These look cute and are great for storing patio essentials like bug spray, sunblock and blankets.
- DIY Planter Box: Eric followed the instructions here to make this L-shaped planter box and I am obsessed! You could DIY it, or buy a similar style here .
